Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure applied to solve both nasal deformities and nasal breathing problems. The main goals of treatment are to improve breathing while gaining a good form.

The surgery can be applied to both male and female patients. Any person who has completed the final development of the nose can be operated on. Surgery is not recommended for people whose nose development has not been completed.

Rhinoplasty surgery is planned individually, because no nose is the same. While planning, some generally accepted aesthetic criteria are used. In addition, the details of the nose shape you want are also taken into consideration. For a good result, other parts of the face must be taken into account in the planning.

By making changes on the photograph with the help of a computer program, the desired approximate appearance can be obtained. Roughly, it can be seen how the new nose shape will be reflected on the face, but this image does not mean that the nose will take that shape after the surgery. After all, the process on the photograph is done by the computer, the surgical procedure is very, very different.

Although the surgery is mostly performed under general anesthesia, patients with very mild deformities can be treated with local anesthesia.

Re-surgical procedure can be applied to patients who have had surgery before, but the desired result has not been achieved or patients with functional problems.

Depending on the size of the surgical procedure, the use of tampons is often required. However, in very light interventions or if the nose curtain will not be interfered with, the use of tampons may not be in question. Rhinoplasty is generally a painless procedure when compared to other surgeries. Whether or not a bruise occurs is completely dependent on the surgical procedure. In the early postoperative period, edema and bruises are at maximum level and will decrease over time. The reduction process varies from person to person, and it usually takes 3-7 days to return to social life and work. It takes approximately 9 months-1 year for the nose shape to fully settle. The hospital stay is usually one day.
